I want to alter the VC texture on Bill Lyon's Grumman goose but were is it ???

One could presume they're in the Panel/Goose.CAB file

texture=$pan2

The numbering sequence is texture=$pan1 to texture=$pan17

I've edited the G21, 2D panel texture files but not the 3D

I'll assume you're talking about the way everything looks in the VC. I went and checked the files just now, and it looks as though all the VC texture stuff is in there. Pretty plainly, it starts at "g213.bmp" and continues to "pilot2s.bmp". Those seem to be the most pertinent files, although there may be a few later on down the list that are part of the VC as well.
