Storm damage at GLE (Read 147 times)

This is bad... this storm didn't kill anyone, but it wreaked havoc at Gainesville Muni. Vintage cargo birds shoved around like toys... heartbreaking for lovers of old Douglas and Martin types, you may not want to look!! They're all more or less intact, but the whole fleet is going to need a lot of work. Somebody's bumming big-time... Undecided

My dad used to live in Gainesville** for a short time when he was a kid and he said during Hurricane Rita I believe it was, it destroyed a Convair 440 that he sat in once. Sad indeed.


**edit; my bad. It was Galveston. Another G-city. But still horrible.

Hummm, I never heard of a Convair being damaged in galveston.  I know they have a DC-3, but its in tip top shape

At least I think it was a Convair. One of those late 50s early 60s propliners.
