I went through the Aircraft CFG and set the various values using the CG of the fuselage part as the reference point. The Sim will still not generate the model. I do'nt have any errors on export from gmax and am exporting with no annimations. All parts are linked to the fuselage part that I have set up with the CG. Because this is a concept aircraft I do'nt know if I have to make a desending order of LODs or what the problem is. The aircraft that I'm building is close to three times larger than the 747 and I'm using the 747s CFG and airfile. I was hoping to upload this aircraft when finished but now I think it will never leave the ground. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Greg. ...

We need more info than that, Cos.

What part of the aircraft are you using as the parent of everything else? ???  What sim are you flying?  At what point does the sim crash?  Click on "click here" when you get that error message and get some technical data for what's going wrong.

Hey thanks Locke. I'm using FS2002. The parent is the left front fuselage. I have it named l_fuselage. The error is occuring as soon as I choose the aircraft and am going back to create a flight. The screen flashes and then goes black with the above error message. As far as the tech data I looked through the error report but could'nt find any error or any info that I could decipher as a problem. The error file has a lot of info so I do'nt think it could be posted. I've tried scaing the aircraft to make it smaller. Tried taking off all of the textures. Tried exporting with and without annimations even though I have'nt put the annimations in yet other than stock anni. I even tried substituting the 747 aircraft CFG with my edited CFG and it generated the 747. Of course it was about twenty feet off the ground at Meigs but it did generate with the settings I had in the CFG so I do'nt think that is the problem.  Thats about as specific as I can get without you asking specificaly what you need to see. Thanks Greg

Okay.  I believe we've stated this for you before, but:

DO NOT PARENT OBJECTS FOR FS2002.

Parents are UNNEEDED in FS2002, and I'm not even sure the sim would recognize them.

Make sure you are using the MakeMDL provided with the FS2002 Gmax SDK, not the one made for ACOF.

GROUP the objects together, then set the transform gizmo to the correct position in the scene, THEN convert.

And if you are ever converting an aircraft for ACOF, DON'T link to a solid object in the scene as the main parent.  The main parent should be (ACOF *ONLY*) a DUMMY object called "exterior" for the outside version and another dummy called "interior" for the VC.  They should be in the same scene, and all the little parts for each section should be linked to either one or the other.

I hope all that made sense, and I hope it helps . . .

I think I see what your saying for FS2002. All I need to do is for example link the gear together and not link them to the fuselage or anything else. Does that mean I link all the parts without annimations seperately such as the fuselage and tail section or is no linking nescesary for non annimated parts? Thanks Greg.

Check your other thread for my response, but in a nutshell, linking is only necessary for parts that have animations, where you want an unanimated part to move with another structure.
