Can anyone tell me if there is any good freeware out there for recording Flight Simulator 2004 videos in a more useful format (wma, avi etc..)? I've tried the free version of FRAPS but my res won't go down to 640x480.
Can anyone help or am I on a wild Goose chase?

You could try gamecam, but I'm unsure of its max resolution. I don't know the link off the top of my head so try googling it.

The newest free version of
Fraps
, Ver. 2.7.2, will record to 1152x864.
The limitations of the free version are a watermark, 30 sec. segments, uncompressed (avi).
Fraps clips along with Windows Movie Maker makes a decent free movie production package.
