Maybe not... not much fire damage seen in that photo, and the fuselage is relatively intact. Looks more like a rough forced landing than an out-of-control crash. Definitely a rough arrival, though- especially for those in that forward section that broke off (which could well have been all 17 people). Yeesh.
But another break is that there was plenty of undeveloped land nearby; this could've been much, much worse.
Let's keep our fingers crossed for the survivors...
