I'm assuming thats the same one i found on a.net a min ago. Thrilling if so, the final 777 one is almost at right angles

Where's the challenge in landing with wheels?

The same video was posted in this thread: http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=COF;action=display;num=114...

Only this one is without those silly captions and has got much better music IMHO!

Scroll down to post no.10. or simply go here:

erm-I think you mean 45 degree angles.  A right angle is 90 degrees.  Now THAT would be impressive!

You find me a 180kt wind and I'll land a 777 in 2 feet! Grin
Crosswind landings are really hard, I just hope I'm never in a plane landing in winds like those. It looks like the pilot didn't correct his heading soon enough in the first one, I'm kinda suprised that the gear didn't get torque damage when he straightened out.

Don't forget that these are test flights that are performed to test the strength of landing gear as much as anything else. They are not too worried about a bit of tyre damage either, lets face it after each test flight these planes are subject to vigorous examination for failures or potential failures. Unlike an airline operator who is keen not to have to be grounded for too long between flights in order to change tyres or undergo lengthy fatigue tests or repairs to landing gear.  Smiley

My landings ususally end up right on the numbers, or a "We regret to inform you...". Since I haven't flown in about a month, it's usually the latter one.
