Can you tell the difference between these two center gear parts?  Which one do you prefer?

The one on the left...

The landing/taxi light housing will lend itself better to a "lens"... the tire is smoother and the other's wheel's detail  probably won't show up well, unless zoomed in on.. (I'd leave that level of detail to texturing )

I agree, the left one would be the best choice! Smiley

Well, that's what I thought, too.

The one on the right was created by someone else, as part of another aircraft I downloaded.  It included a source file, and I liked the gear so much that I thought I might alter it a bit and then ask to include it on one of my own aircraft.

After a little bit of looking, it turned out that the gear had over 4000 polys, which seemed a bit high for my tastes.  The one on the left I created from scratch, using the right one as a guide.  The poly count on the one I created is nearly 1000 polys less, and (to me) looks much better than the one I downloaded.
