Well Craig, I guess it's a good thing masculinity doesn't count for sh*t when it actually comes down to getting the job done Wink

If our plane can do it as well as yours, the stealth pilot's ball shrinkage doesn't really matter.

I think you'll find much of this has been implemented in the like of UAVs. Low observability ("stealth")characteristics can be implemented in lots of ways - not just in a futuristic angular looking aeroplane...

Mmm, even though all the training is down to 100' to keep the skill levels up, when it actually comes to dropping bombs nowadays it's either stand off of LGBs... Having said that, in GW1, no one could come away prouder than the Tornado boys who did the (low level) airfield attacks. Very, very brave men, especially those who didn't come back... Irrelevant now, as JP233 is illegal under the (Ottawa?) landmines treaty...

LOL, during Vietnam is when we flew "warzone day or night at 100 feet doing mach 1+ to deliver your payload while seeing the whites of your enemies eyes." we dont do that no more , becuase the US cares about the pilots of the US armed forces, the "US been there done that"...... Roll Eyes

Or maybe because we can do it just as efficiently (if not more) and far more safely from a higher altitude... or maybe not. Grin

......Yah, well back to the main topic, as knowing UK is a close Allie with US, the US might give a varient of the JSF, guessing ahead of myself maybe they rename it to some other dumb name,....well only time will tell. What pisses me off is when some citizen of UK says our American Fighters look like crap, sooo what, who grades looks, any of our fighters can kick any allie or enemy fighter out of the sky. Just really and REALLY dont complain about our technology considering its' the currently the most suphisticated. Also, look at your aircraft roster, you may find that 10% of it might be American Fighters. Wink

Watch where you're going Sky. The last thing we need is another US v. UK fighter debate (*cough cough* argument...)

I'd like to remind you that

a) the US flies a variety of British planes as well, some of them in very prominent roles

b) doesn't matter if our technology is more advanced if the Brits can get it done just as well with what they've got, and probably cheaper for them to do it too. And they can.

Noones knocking US technology Wink

beefhole, Im really not getting in a debate, Im just mentioning what Pissies me off or my opinion from some people on this forum. From what I explained about US VS. UK etc.

Your right we do fly one british aircraft, *ONLY ONE*. The harrier Jump jet. ~cough~ ~cough~ which is amazingly related to this topic, why would US design a replacement for the Harrier....? And after the replacing, will the US aquire any UK aircraft?

Second thought, If the UK have a flyable harrier jet almost a related design to the JSF, why would they want a JSF?

Why would they be replacing the Harrier?

Why in god's name would they be replacing the F-15? The A-10? These planes do an excellent job (the F-15 is quite possibly the greatest air superiority fighter of all time) and have not outlived their stay, but we're already preparing to get rid of them for "better" technology. The US military strategic decisions are far from infalible.

My point here is that you seem to be forgetting that YOUR opinion may be pissing a bunch of people off, as you're alluding to the inferiority of British aircraft. If you didn't mean that, reread your posts. If you did mean that, I'd advise you to stop doing it-it's not really true and it'll start a riot. There's other forums for that. The fact is we all, nearly every single one of us, are biased for our own country's aircraft. The Brit planes could be ten times better and we'd still be standing across the pond looking down on them.

You're not getting into a debate because noone else has responded yet.

If I ever get in a debate, it would be becuase of some person bringing up the point of comparing some other countrie againsts another, which I rarely see and observe. If it was explained in my post as my attitude causing a debate or "riot" im sorry and I take back anyting I say. Firstly that. What? non aviation stuff is discussed here all the time and has been since the start of this forum.
so your going to have to be more clear on that.

Secondly, you'd have thought with people here being such fans of aircraft they would spend half their lives looking upwards, but aparently not enough as things still manage to fly over your heads Wink
