i´ve seen it... i don´t think ive ever seen such an amazing game Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

i watched the 1 hour long video of will wright´s presentation of the game, and i was astounded....

this game is revolutionary, instead of having pre-made content, it is based solely on algorithms and it CREATES it´s own content as you play it...

there are no models or animations in the game.... it will analize the creature you´ve created and decide how it would move... it´s all created procedurally

you begin with a single cell organism, which will eventually reproduce... when it does, you get to edit how the next generation will be, taking the next step in the species´ evolution

soon you will have a multi-cell organism to play with, which will continue to evolve into a more elaborate life form....

after a while, your creature has probably become intelligent and is now living in groups.... youre now in control of a small civilization

as this civilization develops, the can build cities, vehicles and weapons and even go to war with other civilizations, which are downloaded from other players through a master server (everything you create in this game is uploaded to their database and can be downloaded by others)

when your people reach a certain level of intelligence, they can build spacecraft, which will take you to other planets in which you can built colonies, or even terraform to suit your species need

after that, youll soon be able to deevelop an interstellar drive, which will take you to other parts of the galaxy Grin

all this is created procedurally, so every time you play, you will get a totally different end result, making the game seemingly limitless

all this would fill many many dvds if it was made using pre-created content, not to mention it would cost millions of dollars and need a team of thousands of developers... but since it´s all created procedurally, it can be put into a single CD-ROM, because it will create its content as you play it

i am, in a word, flabbergasted Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

this is by far the most interesting and astounding game ive ever seen... i found out about it yesterday, and i already cant wait.... i believe it´s scheduled to be released on Q4 2006....

Moach, already waiting for release

PS: you can watch the 1 hour long video here:
