The game developers finally made an official website for the game. This site has it all. Screenies, blogs, updates, etc.

http://www.stargateworlds.com/

Hmm, I wonder what the system requirement would be. Wink

They cancelled the other stargate game they were making. Is this a new one then? or did the new company decide it was worth picking it back up and finishing it?

Well, I was only pointing out the website and the effort that was put into the game. It's a shame that they cancelled it. I understand that they have to focus their money on the TV series more often. But I bet the fans might start roaring for the game's creation.

I agree, I have been wanting a game on the series for a long time. There is pleanty to make a game about. The fact its an independant company making it means the excuse about the series and money is redundant. After all the work they have done on it already it seems stupid to stop at the last hurdle.

I spoke with some friends about this. Some of them came up with some interesting theories as to why the company cancelled. For example: Think of the amount of money it takes to make the game [paying the actors, paying MGM for the liscense to use the series and turn it into a game, etc.]. Basically, legal issues would arise if the game is based on a TV series, especially if the company is independent from the series' parent company.

The man in the article pointed out some technical issues with the game [ie: CTD, lock ups, etc.]. Maybe the game was becoming too complicated to be maintained by most systems. But then again, what can be more complicated than FS? Grin Grin Grin

I do think this is a case of, promising more than a game can currently handle. So much of the series is based on the dialogue. You can only fit so much voice acting onto a game. I know there is a seperate online game being made though.

An online game would work much better. I used to be part of the Stargate SG-1 site when you did missions and such, and was part of SG-9. That would work great for online though, join an SG team and go on missions with them. Requires head set or comparable featyure

Which site did you go to? And is the online game still around? How many players can connect at once?
