Ok, i was thinking that we could get together a LOT of people and to an attack raid on russa.(i know i know, we're past "fighting" with russa, but...)

we could get together a bunch of planes.

USA-ALLIES:

F-16 Grin
F-15
B-1
B-2
Eurofighter typhoon
F-22 (mabye, it might be to good)

Russa-China-Vietnam

MiG-29 (lots)
MiG 1.44?
any other suggetions?

Allies take off from somewhere in alaska, fly to somewhere in russa, and bomb some target.
The rules will be basecly the same as wargames,(you have to be 0.6 to shoot, enemy in target for about 5 seconds) the are NO missles, as it would just make it way to complicated.

i dont have any details yet, but there sure to come.

(Bangs head against desk)

You could do this in CFS2.
You could do this in CFS3.
You could do this in LOMAC.
You could do this in Falcon.
You could do this in IL2.
You could do this in a number of other sims specifically designed for players to go head to head and shoot each other down.

There is only ONE sim where the object is to fly safely and NOT shoot each other down, where there are NO guns and NO missiles and NO bombs, and that's FS2004.

And which sim were you planning on using for this exercise?

Not doing it in FS2004.  I will do it in LOMAC, or CFS or something, but FS9 doens't work too well for this, especially with modern combat.

It's too hard to decide when one person shot another down, and it would be especially difficult with modern fighters and BVR combat.  You should get your LOMAC to work, if you need some help, I would be more than happy to help as would the fine folks HERE. Wink

WWII dogfights were just about doable in FS9, however modern combat with medium/long range missiles would simply not work. I can't see how you'd get a kill in that.

"Must be between 8-10nm out, then they're dead..."

It would have to be in a combat sim. CFS2 is the best for WWII dogfighting, LOMAC is probably best for modern combat.

What kind of video card do you have? Do you have the latest drivers? Do you have the latest version of LOMAC?

Oh, it must be on-board or something, what kind of computer do you have? Did you check to make sure you have the latest drivers for it? Otherwise I don't know, you should probably have to ask someone else about it. Embarrassed
