How's about a round for Microsoft?  Microsoft lovers are far and few inbetween, but I am a proud Microsoft lover.  Everything from Windows Media to Flight Simulator.

And for all you boycotters, I refuse to use Apple!  Ha! I only have Quicktime installed because for some crazy reason people actually use the .mov format.  I wish I could nuke iTunes out of the installation process.

PS: Have never slandered Microsoft with the dollar sign, and never plan to do so! Grin

einTunes = Love.

I am a DJ, and as far as personal listening, to doing gigs iTunes is by far my #1 choice. Its just an amazing media player.

As far as Mac goes, I hate and respect it. 3D rendering, video and photo editing, and music production you cant beat the Mac. But then again it was created for the Scientific and Acedemic worlds where M$ created Windows for busness apps.

So for music Mac all the way. Movies M$, and OS M$. The program that needs to shove it is Real Player. By far the worst piece of s*** I have ever used. Even Active player is better.

Cheers

Yep! Who the hell saves videos as .ram?! Every audio file should be .mp3 and every video file .avi. Simple. No more silly .wmas and .movs. Pointless really.

i also hate and repect apple for different reaons. i am a rebel, and OSX is lockdown at school because of network admin 5. I havent been able to crack past anything. also the schhol computers constantly crash, mostly because of the network admin program...

i don't have troubles with my computer at home or the A+ comp repair computers, and i havent used Ctrl+alt+del for quitting reasons since august of last year.

I use 3 programs for my music, but only one for basic listening, Windows media player.
I use itunes for my Ipod
and i ues sony connect for it's Atrac format.

I say we should switch to Atrac, it's a better Compression than MP3. 500 songs on a CD disc!!! (Compact Disc disc!!!) Beats an MP3's 200. downside is it only plays on sony equipment (for the time)

I hate quicktime, just becuase, and real media i won't even go into.

music should be MP3, wma or Atrac
movies in mpg  or avi.

NO CODECS!!!

That's quite a downside. Wink Tongue

I had long since thought RealMedia was all but dead.  I was downloading aircraft videos the other day and to my shock, I found a retched .ram!  RealAlternative does the trick though.

I actually prefer WMA over MP3, as I can get seamless song transitions in WMP.

I agree with y'all.  No more silly formats.  Just MP3 and WMA, and MPG and AVI.

Amen to that! Grin

I'm sick of quicktime and the real player formats Roll Eyes

The Itunes format is also annoying. My brother has an iPod and we buy songs over Itunes, but to get the music in a normal format, I have to transfer the music from my brother's computer, burn it to an audio cd using Itunes, and then rip it into wav format

3D RENDERING ON A MAC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my god...... STOPPPPPP
Iīm i that business for more than 10 years.. believe me.. no
serious company would ever use a Mac for 3D Graphics.
(Not even Pixar who was previously owned by Steve Jobs)
I know one big FX company here in Munich who gave Maya
for Macintosh a try. And they threw it in the trash after 2 days of testing.
The Mac is a pure Flatdesigner Machine. And even in that branch is not the dominating platform anymore. Most advertising agencies Iīm working with use Intel/Windows
allready.

Regarding Music (software). This is their very last "ace in the hole".
But not long anymore because "Logic Audio" is meanwhile
dead... there will be no further versions. For anyone who does not know this story....
Once there was a fantastic company called E-Magic (not Magix) who build the best audio sequencer software on the market called "Logic Audio". It was available for
Windows and Mac. Than Apple came.. bought the company... and stopped the Windows Version. Cause most studios used  Logic on a PC and didnīt want to change to a Mac.. instead they bought Cubase (the competitor of Logic). Now after constantly decreasing sales figures.. they finally also stopped Logic for Macintosh... and probabely the best Sequencer Software
is gone forever
http://www.apple.com/support/emagic/

this is all thatīs left... Sad
.... Therefor I hate Apple !!!

I had to work 2 years on Macīs at school and from my experience.. the are not more stable than Intel/Windows !!
they are not faster !! (compared to the price even slower)
they are way more expensive.. and ship with a mouse with just one button (snowball fight in boxing gloves ?!)
You have to pay for every update... and so on and so on.

Sorry I donīt want to insult any Mac User here.. but Iīm absolutely biased on that thematic

cheers

edit: did I mention that I hate Quicktime, too Cheesy
It recently came up with a message that I canīt use it anymore cause my license ran out and I will need a new version. But this "new version" automatically installed i-tunes...... well  .... farewell Quicktime.. i will not miss you.. and use media player classic instead wich can play movs
as well  Tongue

I did my best to dissuade my sister, but it was hopeless.  She had the nerve to proudly display it to me, then she was asking for help on how to use iTunes!  Ha!

I used to be one of the biggest anti einPos people in the world, but then I got a 60GB einPos Video for x-Mas. As for sound goes, well lets just say it lacs, however as a extirnal HDD the thing works amazingly. And because all my friends have einPos' its easy to transfer files between all of our computers. The other thing that is nice is that I have a problem with breaking all of my portable electronics so Apple care is a huge help in this. But I dont know what it is, because I was a huge fan of iTunes waay before I ever got an einPos. Its muchly because I like the library system much better than that of anything else (and yes I did try the sony connect).

Cheers
