Okay, I modded AFGs Panel for the Pilatus PC-12.  Everthing is great now, and the VC with my panel mods and texture mods is alot better.  Sadly, for some reason, it crashes the sim when you switch planes.  This happened to me and Jared (who was testing it for me).

I dont know what I did.  Honestly, I have no clue.  SO I was wondering if ANY panel expert could test it for me and try and put their finger on the problem

Thank you,
Jake

Send it to me if you like.* I'm no expert but I should know my way around panels by now. Don't forget the gauges.

Check this out first. http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=COF;action=display;num=113...

*PS. Maybe not. I just downloaded it & must confess to not understanding the install instructions for the panels. I'm getting exactly the same problem with the originals. There seems to be some sort of copyright issue. ???

Not likely! If it has know issues that cause C2D I'm not interested -- but thanks for the offer  Cheesy

I will, however, attempt to help you fix it. I've edited (never heard the word modded) panel gauges and BMP files.

Through a process-of-elimination, I'd first determine if it's the graphics or the gauges. This can be done by simply removing and replacing the current with the backups on a one-by-one basis.

Ive discovered that its not something I did, because even the normal one crashes the sim.  This is so strange!

And hagar, part of the reason I did this is because the panel they include is a great 2d, but the VC is horrendous.  I used the 2D panel from Brian Gladdens with the VC from AFG, and changed the gauges/added gauges to make the VC better.

Im sure its not a graphics issue, as the ONLY time it crashes is when switching FROM the AFG Pilatus TO another plane.  I can switch from any other plane to any plane, even from another plane to the Pilatus.

The only way to track it down is by a process of elimination. It could be one or more of the gauges or even the format of a texture. I would make a start by using aliased panels to eliminate the visual model from the equation. There has to be a logical explanation for it.

Ive fixed the problem.  For some reason the Effects gauge that powers the smoke effects was at fault.  Im not sure exatly why, but I just removed the entries in the Panel.cfg and the problem was solved.
