When I first got the car in May of 2003 (minus seat covers):
First mod: Shaved badges and molding:
Next mod: Neons:
Afterwards: Dug up a Chevy Cavalier body kit:
Then I got the Cavalier tails to put my license plate somewhere:
Then, an akward phase where it seemed like the car never looked right:
Problem solved!:
Then I redid the interior to match the impending color scheme:
After a much-too-long wait, paint came!:
Things were lookin bad after we had issues with the clear coat:
But it was soon fixed!
Then the neons were put back on!:
And, Saturday, August 20th, another setback for the Sunbird Z24...
Insurance called it totalled, said it was $1800 or more to repair the car...well....$250 later, the car is drivable yet again!
And, with the money the insurance company gave me, I have put some new seats in the car, and am finishing up the car to be the way I always wanted it to be!
November last year I finally got 30% window tint all the way around!
And thats all Ive done so far. Plans now are for an engine swap soon (2.0 4 banger leaving for a 3.1 V6)

Looks like a good car there Ridge, you have done a bunch of nice things to it. Do you have a car domain page? If you do, send me the link and I'll add you to my friends list.

Also, it looks like instead of selling it, Im gonna be working on it a bit more..was driving to the bank today, and smoke started drifting out from under the hood, then blasting through the (closed) air vents into the cabin

Any idea whats wrong with it? Was is engine smoke or electrical smoke coming in (I have experienced both-I think the electrical one made me more nervious).
I hope that nothing serious is wrong with it.

Well, after the engine is shut down, and I open the throttle body valve, lots of smoke come out of the engine...not to mention what comes out between the motor and the firewall...
Hooray for a blown head gasket!

That sucks dude, tons of fun to fix. Hopefully thats all it is; hopefully caused by nothing more than the gasket failing due to age. If it was caused by overheating...you may have bigger problems (including a cracked block).

I could drop $300 for new cooling stuff, gasket, and possibly more for a new block, but Im just going to go ahead and do the engine swap. $200 for a tranny and motor of my choice...Im going to go with this motor out of a 1990 Beretta!

Don't you dare put neon lights on your car Craig.

Had the hood pop open on my long-departed '71 Volvo 164 while cruising down the highway once: didn't even bend at the hinge attach points, let alone come back that far. Very effective air brake, as you might imagine.
Fortunately I was in the outside lane, along a barrier, so I was able to stay lined up easily as I slowed down.
Quite a surprise, though- the latch had seemed fine to me last time I'd looked at it...
