Hello all,
One of my students is an exchange student from Gaza. I was talking to him the other day after class and he mentioned he was interesting in becoming a pilot (commercial). He asked me if I knew what schools were good for becoming a commercial pilot. I asked him where he wanted to go to school and he indicated that it didn't matter. He just wants to go to a good school.
I know this has been asked plenty of times before. I just wanted some names of schools to drop on him and give him the next steps he could possibly take.

You didn't mention where you are, but here in the US, there are several popular flight schools around the country. Community colleges sometimes offer flight programs also.
I have a friend who flies for Delta Airlines who went to a flight school that was operated by Delta Airlines somewhere in Florida.
If you pick up an Aviation magazine, you will more than likely find several ads for flight school

Well being from another country he will have to get all of his ID information together and make sure there are no holes. Then he will want to make sure he complies with Feder Aviation Regulations Part 61 Sub Parts A, B, C, and E to start off with. You can find those in any FAR/AIM book or you can go to faa.gov and find regulations. Then just look for a flight school. I'm going to one in georgia thats a 2 year technical college program that goes through everything up to CFI Milti Engine Land. If he doesnt wany to go through CFI training Commercial is a bit less work. Now ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) is a little different. You have to be at least 23 and generally you need a good ammount of hours in general commercial aviation.

Very interesting. Thanks for the information. I forgot that it doesn't display my location on this board. I'm in Maryland right now, but I'm not sure if he intends on going to school here in the states or back to Gaza. My student simply asked me what were good schools in the world. But for the sake of simplicity, I'll keep it in the US. Unless anyone does know of schools abroad as well.
Thanks for the information regarding the FAA. I will look that up for him.

I think aviation is nonexistent in Gaza but across the border in Amman, there is quite a bit of flight training taking place at Marka Airport.
.....so I loaded up the plane and moved to Middle-EEEE..........OIL..that is......

Better let him do training outside the US... Chances are he won't even get in the country let alone get permission to join a flight school.
Russian planes:
IL-76 (all standard length ones)
,
Tu-154 and Il-62
,
Tu-134
and
An-24RV
&&&&AI flightplans and repaints can be found
