Hello racers!!
Helping clipper with setting up the "simV Great Race season", I have set up a poll. Now which aircraft do you racers desire to race in? There is a wide selection, and, if you need more information, do not hesitiate to contact me. In the opening race to the season, expect barrel rolls and touch and go's at some airfields.
The above aircraft mentioned are rather framerate friendly, so keep voting chaps!
Be sure to keep an eye out for the SimV great race entry form, in the MP forum soon!
Get voting, and see you all at the races!

I think it should be the extra for the kind of flying we do.  Its what they use in the Redbull airraces, and what I think we should use

The Extras would be really cool.  Cheesy

Jake, I don't think they use Extras, I know some of them use the Zivko Edge, but I don't know if they all do or if they all have different aircraft. ???

Well, the ones I saw were extras.  Regardless, they are similar to extras

I've put my vote down for any Mike Stone aircraft (General Aviation). But I wouldn't mind the Extra 300 IF it's a tight circuit.

Long stretches = Mike Stone's GA Aircraft
Tight, fast corners = Extra 300

As long as we have time to download it and get one or two flights in before the race, I really don't mind what we fly.

If the decision about which plane is made a few days before the race, it gives us time to at least paint numbers on the side so we don't have everyone flying identical planes.  The textures could be posted on the morning of the race, it wouldn't be a big download.

Default Extra 300!

Mike Stone's AC are good but they include jets.  Jets are no fun for air races, they take all of the skill out of them.

Plus, the default Extra has a good VC, races are best flown from a VC IMO Grin

AMD Athlon 64 3700+&&GeForce FX5200 256Mb&&1GB DDR400 DC&&Seagate 500Gb SATA-300 HDD&&Windows XP Professional X64 Edition
&&&&That's right, I'm now using an AMD! I decided to give them another try and they kicked the pants off of my P4 3.4!

Changing the ATC name to your name will print it on the side of the ac, but it is not too big. Dunno if that helps ???

yeah, but painting isnt that hard if you dont want it to be that good.  If you want, I could sit down on friday and paint everyones plane with their registration.

That's what I meant.  One person could easily paint numbers 1-10 on the planes and upload the files to SimV.  Anyone who wants to race could download the files and install them, then pick the number they want.  First one to claim a number gets it!  That's why we should decide what plane to use before the actual race day, although it looks like the Extra is going to be the obvious poll winner.  I've never even flown it before, it's too ugly - suppose I'd better go give it a spin now!

I suppose that would work. One zip file with numbers 1-xx painted, install all of the textures with one swift copy and paste and an edit of the aircraft cfg, and choose your aircraft on the day (or before hand).

Would also be best for the judges to just display the player's name, not the manufacturer, altitude, distance, etc. Makes for easy identification, along with the numbers.

It's a great idea with the 'Number-repaints'; I claim no. 88! Grin
