Easy in the UK, but our MOD landies are all canvas top, and the only choice is between a 88 Lightweight that has been standing still for years and a full-tax 110.

Anything else is already sold (mainly 109 ambulance which can be registered as 'motorhome' because the rear part has full standing height)

Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and An-24RV&&&&AI flightplans and repaints can be found here

I would go with the Landrover. But if you do top of your list of improvements should be a roll bar as they may be built like a brick shithouse but if it gets flipped over, as can easily happen you will more than know about it.

The think I like best about them as you can almost disassemble them completely with nothing more than a pair of half inch spanners. Grin

Planned improvement list so far
  • Mudflaps
  • Extra lights on roofrack, 6 xenon ones in total
  • Spare on bonnet if it isn't there already (going for 2 spares anyway, one on front and one on back)
  • Reinforced front and rear bumpers
  • Winch
  • Rollbar that still allows full interior use (all doors available)
  • Fuel system redone with PPO proof ducts
  • Water resistant interior
  • The usual repaint and repair stuff
  • Galvanised chassis

When the thing is driveable, i think im going to test it in norhtern Spain, near Pamplona (near-desert area with dirt roads), or drive all the way to Granada

Out of all that list all I would do is:

Galvanised Chassis, if current one needed changing.
Spare on bonnet, if one not present.
Roll bar.
And possibly the winch if I ever thought I'd need it.

The rest is a complete waste of time, effort and money. Especially the bumpers as they don't have rear bumpers and the stock front ones are more that strong enough and capable of writing off anything short of a juggernaut in a collision.
