For goodness sake don't go for anything but the NSR. All the rest are four stroke bikes and get 0-60 slower than my Peugeot 106 and won't top 70mph.

Your best bet is going for a restricted NSR since you only have your CBT. When un-restricted the NSR tops out at 120mph and gets the 0-60 run in 5-6 seconds depending on how you unrestrict it. As long as you don't mind it sounding like a bee in a jam jar, it still looks the dogs.

If you are not looking for a poser bike and something to learn on the CG is the best bet as it has that Honda reliability and if you manage to bin it (highly likely at this time of year, I've allready binned my bike once.) you won't have to shell out 500 quid for the carbon-fibre fairing, like me.

I don't know much about the SR but it looks like a CG without that Honda reliability and the CBR is much maligned througout the biking world as the very shoddy replacement for the NSR. If you can afford it I would also go for fully comp as you'll need to get your no claims rolling.

Oh and final advice really do get all the right kit as I can tell you from personal experience sliding down a road a 30mph is no fun, and I would have been dead without the leathers.

Oh and the most important thing, have fun Wink

Here are the bikes in order of greatness:

Thanks for your advice Pete,

I've been looking at the Nsr and the Gilera for a while now, until today................. when i saw this
...

The Suzuki RG 125..... its exactly like the picture above only its recently been resprayed Jet Black and doesn't need to be serviced/Taxed/MOT'd till august next year which is a bonus and the insurance for this bike under Third Party Fire and Theft is less than £270 for a year and includes Legal cover.

When i can i'll get some shots of it and post them on here.

A Very Very Happy Nemo...........

Want something better... get your truck license and get a Dakar truck. even with 80kmh restriction it's as fast as a motorbike at the trafic light

I'd be careful from the looks of it, it is a 1980's model so if it hasn't had proof of a top end engine rebuild in the past 5000 miles it could be dodgy as two stroke engines our veeery touchy and can be unreliable if not looked after properly.

Just remember when you view it to look carefully and don't be too keen to part with your dough before you have looked at the other alternatives.
