Yokota (RJTY) is where I have the biggest problem with this. I've got at least three different AI traffic programs with traffic for Yokota, but two won't work at the same time and one won't work ever! The traffic either 1) disappears after touching down on the runway, or 2) taxis to the end of the runway, then disappears after sitting there for a few minutes without ever pulling onto the runway.

I've got PAI C-17 Globemasters, then the default traffic I've modified, and another WWII-era traffic I've made with DC-3/C-47s and B-25s. I noticed that the PAI program had slightly different coordinates than AFCAD's listing, but at least it worked. But when PAI's traffic works, the other two don't, and when I put all three AI patterns on AFCAD's coordinates, the B-25s and C-47s work, but not the B-17s. And the Cherokees, Barons and King Airs from the default AI traffic NEVER work!

The only thing I've done to the default AFCAD file for Yokota is add parking - lots of parking! And yes, I use YRoute for creating all of my AI traffic.

So what the heck am I doing wrong?

Hi
Usualy ai traffic will disappear or not take off or land If' atc carn't instruct them too do as required.  Run the airport through AFCAD. and use the Fault finder too see just what the problem is with the airport. and correct them.

cheers
Frank.

Run a ScanAFD check . . . then be certain the number of parking spots are of sufficient size. You have some fairly large crates flying there.

The other thing you might want to check is where the hold  shorts or placed at.
I know of at least 1 default air port that had this problem. The hold shorts were misplaced on the taxi ways so that when ai aircraft stopped fs did not see them at the propper place.
The quickest way to find out is while taxing to a runway leave the atc window open making sure you have switched to the tower than watch as to where the request to take off option becomes available.
If the hold short is not at the end of the runway but at the end of a thresh hold ATC will not give AI  Clearance as they are not at the propper place to receive take off clearance.
If you do not know what I am talking about just send me A private message and I will send you an example of what I am talking about. 8)

I ran the fault finder on my AFCAD, and found that most of my 48 parking spaces weren't connected to the links or nodes that sat right on top of them. So I started re-working all of those and now traffic is landing and parking like it should.

Thanks!

'Course, I've still got almost half of the airport left to design parking spaces for.... should be a busy little place with almost 100 aircraft flying in and out!

Hi Chris

I've just raed your ai disappearing problem again. I thought that it was the parking problem, and it seems that I was correct' but then I din't learn, as I've just made the same mistake on a new airport. Thought that I would let you know. Sad

Cheers

Frank.
