Have FS 2002 Prof. Edition.  Trying to install on XP Prof. v.2002.  New 80 GB hard drive last week with reloaded drivers and programs.  AMD Athlon processor.  952 MHz. 512 MB RAM.  FS installation stops at 2% with text:  copying:  gs2vid1.wmv.  Worked fine on Windows 98 but spyware got to everything.  Computer skills limited.  Any help welcomed.

Apologies for lengthy delay in replying but domestic chores topped to-do list.  Followed advice to clean discs and installation went fine.  BUT now into screen freezing soon after takeoff as turns commenced.  ESC does not work.  Stop Error message pops up indicating cause is device driver but system check using Windows Update suggests everything OK.  Any suggestions from anyone out there?  Tnx - Killaloe.

Indeed it did work.  On disc 1, you could see an obvious thumb print.  Dusted all three gently and installed successfully on the first try amid a lot of earlier frustration.  Have tried a Cessna Skyhawk at our local airport - Peterborough, Canada - and at Downsview - near Pearson, Toronto.  On takeoff roll, the 2 key works fine to get airborn but soon after you try to dampen the rate of climb (8) or bank (4 or 6), everything grinds to a halt, yet the engine sound is still audible.  ESC hasn't worked to exit so have used the End Task process which leads to the screen flags about "MS Flight Simulator had to close . . . send a report" and so on.  The tech I have used is not equal to this one and, at 68, guess I'm not either.  Quite enjoyable for a year on Windows 98 where it worked great.  Any thoughts?  Thanks for your interest and rapid response.  Killaloe.

Hope this helps:  AMD Athlon(tm) processor;  952 MHz;  86 G HD 7200 rpm;  512 MB RAM;  Maxtor 6Y080L0 disc driver; NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 100/200;  Audio codecs, Legacy audio driver, Legacy video capture devices, Media control devices, Standard game port, VIA AC'97 audio controller, video codecs.  Loaded on the system are Norton antivirus package, Adobe reader, MS antispyware, Media Player 9, Nero Startsmart.  Tied in is a Brother HO 1434 laser printer.  That's it.  Not on a network.  Internet supplier is high-speed cable.  Thanks again.
