Well I was in that rather odd mood this afternoon when I needed to watch a good film...
Having recently picked up Dambusters on DVD whilst in Blighty I decided it was time to watch it! What a truely great film! And what incredible flying
Especially when I'd read in a recent copy of Aeroplane that they were flying the Lancs at 30 ft for filming as the director reckoned 60 ft (the actually bombing altitude) looked higher than was cool!
I have to say it makes TopGun look tame, no special effects on the flying and frankly anyone who can fly a Lanc like that deserves maximum respect!
If you haven't got it/seen it then do.... I'm off to hum the theme tune and maybe watch it again 8)
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

I read that article to and also saw a doc on discovery channel I think..
I especially liked the part when (dunno in which one) one of the crewmen said that they always tried to fly underneath some powerlines. Not that it was part of the training but just for fun
Incredible flying that was!

Great film, unless shown by ITV and dubbed so that GPG's dog's name is ommitted...

The anti-racism brigade strike again. The only thing is that that word is rather off-colour Chris, nowadays they'd have to call him something like "Opposite of white" or "Not caucasian or oriental" or the like

Aye...
Strangely enough, most RAF issue black labs are called Charlie nowadays.
