This is a true story- I was out deer hunting once in a very rural area. I knew the area well and had perched myself high in a tree on a deer path that looked like a deer interstate. I was within 25 yards of a stonewall (about 3 ft high), which marked the property line. On the other side of the wall was a field that belonged to a man I knew well. He raised cattle and had installed an electric fence (I believe he said the brand was a "Bushwhacker"). Now near this stonewall was a very large boulder that was actually part of the wall.
Ok, now on this particular day of hunting, I heard than saw another hunter walking towards the wall. When he got to the wall, he sat his rifle down and proceeded to take a leak. Well, he started and reached over to steady himself on the boulder (note: he grounded himself) and I remember thinking this was one proud fellow if he needed to steady himself against the anticipated back pressure.
He then proceeds to pee up and down the wall and yep and you guessed it, ole Mr. Confidence decided to piss over the wall, right on the electric fence (he didn't see it for the stonewall and not paying attention). He then proceeds to do a variation of the Macarena known as the, "I zapped my wee-wee" version. He was hooting and hollering and seemed to keep good time with the gyrations. He finally collapsed and I couldn't contain myself any longer and hollered over at him, "Hey, looks like you got a real charge out of that!" Between moaning and laughing, he looked up at me and said, "Damn man, I didn't see you!" I replied that I imagined that his shocking experience must have hurt like hell. He laughed and said he couldn't stop peeing until he had nothing left. He also informed me that he discovered that you, "Sure as hell can't jump start it like a car." Apparently he never though to take his hand off the boulder either....
I filed this hunting experience under, "Thing's not to do while hunting" and sub-folder, "Thing's not to try in place of viagra"....

well, i did pee once on an electric fence
it's nothing you want to happen again, but your account of such a situation is just bullshit

Ah, another wannabe expert....
FYI-The voltage of an electric fence should vary from about 2000 to about 10,000 volts. A 10,000 volt output is the maximum voltage allowed by international regulations. The voltage that is used depends on the desired power of the shock and the distance on the fence that can be shocked up to. For a longer shocking distance range, a lower voltage would be used. However for a greater shock, a higher voltage would be used. With these higher voltages, sparks can travel greater distances into the animal. For every 1 mm of hide your animal has, 2000 volts must be used to overcome this layer otherwise, the animal will not feel a thing. For all operating purposes, a higher voltage fence will give you the best results when it comes to prohibiting livestock from a specific area.
When giving an animal a shock, the animal becomes a part of the circuit so that the shock can flow throughout the animal. The electricity will pass from the wire, through the animal, out from their feet, into the ground and back through ground rods. Wet and Soft soil is desirable because electricity flows better through this kind of soil.
The fence in question was designed to not only keep cattle in, but to reduce ground growth of grasses and weeds. As everyone knows Amps kill, not volts. Enough volts can make anyone lose their water when the shock inhibits the bladders muscles from functioning to hold the piss in. So if the voltage is strong enough to make cattle notice, I'm sure a man that had grounded himself would feel the effects through his penis while peeing.
I assure you I wasn't about to test it for myself. The poor hunter convinced me of his sincerity.

well, all i can say is this: i got severall short shoks, since i didn't hit the wire through the whole session.
and due to the shocks, i wouldn't have been able to to keep the stream on the wire if i wanted to.
and btw, i didn't pee on it on purpose, my target was a thin brush on the other side of which was the fence.

Myshelf the only way you could pee on an electric fence without getting a shock is either if it was off, or if it was a "pulse" model which sends an electrical jolt down the wires every so often.
This is elementary physics!
In England last year a guy was killed peeing onto an Underground line (serious voltage and ampage).
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

you still have to hit the wire with the stream, and that's usually pretty thin. the electric part of the fence i hit was just a single wire about 2 feet over the ground.

The farmer had a 3 wire fence. With wires at 18", 36" and 48". The voltage was set at 8,000 and would surge to 10,000 volts if any of the cattle were to lean into it and cause it to be grounded. I know I'd seen many cows try to lean out to get to the grasses outside the fence. They'd jump back when the surge boost hit them.
The key ingredients to this poor hunters embarrassing lesson was he had been holding it along time and his bladder was full. He grounded himself on the boulder by placing his bare hand on it. He then of course was holding himself with his other hand which took the ground directly to his penis. So when the stream hit the wire, it caused the circuit to be complete. He actually started peeing more when the jolt hit him.
Now this entire even might have lasted all of 60 seconds. It also didn't help matters that the ground was wet from melting snow.
So myself if you were wearing shoes and the ground was dry, you wouldn't have felt much. Also the description you give of the fence you encountered sounds like it was a lower voltage fence meant to keep critters out. Like one around a garden that's trying to keep rabbits out.

I was thinking whilst out house hunting today and I remembered a funny episode from many years ago involving one of the corporals in our unit on a training exercise. A local farmer had a temporary fence made out of what appeared to be orange string.
We'd been up on the assault course before hand and this corporal had torn his trousers in a rather awkward position, and he had a penchant for not wearing undies.
So we're all laden with kit and decided to cut across this field so the corporal grabbed the fence and got half-way over when his unfortunate testicles dropped from his trousers, and at that same moment we discovered that the fence was of the "pulse" variety. I've never seen anyone in full marching order take-off vertically like something belonging to NASA.
After about 20 minutes he was able to stand up again, and so were we

I wonder how long "shit" hasn't been censored for.

LMAO....OUCH!
I thought the poor hunter had a serious problem. I can't imagine that poor fellow getting his testicles zapped....

well, so you saying he grounded himself and even while twitching around from shocks his stream never lost contact with at least one of three thin wires for over a minute?
