Hi,

I'm James and I was wondering if anybody knew anything about life as a pilot and what to do to become a pilot (preferably for British Airways). I hav gone through all the sites but the BA Site is pretty usesless as it provides out of date information. Any information on anything to do with ATP's would be great.

Thanks,
James Turbett

work hard in school get a good education. When you can, get a job and start saving. The other option is military this will greatly reduce costs and even gets you paid for it. The civilian route, can be expensive costing upto and over £50,000. You will need to find a flight school and get your PPL to start with, and then move onto the others. Your still young o if your parents agree, see if you can get a couple of flying lessons in before your 16/17 cant remember which. that way you wont have as many to do for your first license.

Thanks, I never thought of that!
I did have a look at an hour or so at Gatwick on a simulator (b737) but it's extremely expensive!!!
I think a few lessons is a good start

Its not to expensive, but its not cheap...if you go the civilian way get your PPL and become a CFI then become a MEI to gain hours....also if you get a job at the airport your school is based you may get to meet people and get connections which can later in life help you out.
