Hi,
I get the error message "Unable to launch room. Please close your browser and try again" when trying to connect to multiplayer on the zone.
Everything has been working fine up untill yesterday. I have not changed any settings. I get the same message in CFS and 2002. I am running 98 and broadband.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked out the stickies at the top of this part of the forum ....... your answer could be found in there.
The problem could be that you're not running the latest version of DirectX ... its DX9c now. To find out goto START/RUN and in the box type dxdiag and hit enter. Your version of DirectX will be shown near the bottom of the box that opens up.

Many thanks for your response, but I still have the problem, I thought a moderator may have came back with positives rather than negatives?

Hi,
I have managed to resolve this issue, so if anyone has the same problem.......go to control panel...add/remove programs....remove MSN Game zone files.....re-connect to zone and new files will be re-installed.
This probably happens if your files have become corrupted for some reason.

ivormills,
We have a pretty casual attitude around here on SimV....... so I guess I am sorry if my joking around was not appreciated.
But "The Zone" is pretty well known for a RAFT of issues.... and a lot of the more serious people abandon it rather quickly for better online flight servers.
My intended "serious" point is that you are likely to find a lot of issues when tryinmg to connect on the "The Zone".
best,

Hey buddy welcome to the randomness that is Sim V
I would highly recommend popping on over to:
http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/
and downloading FSHost spy, when you run it, the program will tell you what servers are running and even allow you to see where the people in the server are located andwhat they are flying..
Very cool if you ask me!
And best yet there is usually not as many problems as long as the right ports are kept open during the session..
Good luck, and have fun!
