Not wanting to get any particular forum members excited, but looking at the provisional programme (topped by 18 Spitfires, 6 Hurricanes, 2 Mustangs and 2 Bristol Fighters(!)), some way down the list appears the words...

Messerschmitt BF109

Will this be the UK appearance of Paul Allen's recently restored Bf109e?

Might have to find out - for the British forum members this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity...

I will be going anyway, but the thought that a real 109 may be on the list has me very exited now. I did see Black 6 fly once but we so need another 109 on the display scene. Lets just hope the weather is kind. All those Spits and 6 Hurricanes (that is just about the whole UK population isn't it?) should make for an unmissable weekend me thinks. Grin

Just got back. This is exciting news but I've been disappointed before. Keep your fingers & toes crossed chaps. Wink

Well so there is! I wonder which it is - there are really only 2 candidates, one being the former Doug Arnold one, last known of with "Flying A Services" who had their Hellcat and Wildcat out at North Weald a few years back - and thats where PR.11 PL983 appeared from a few years back, and there are a couple with Craig Charleston (the Bf109e restorer...).

They do the same program both days although often an aircraft will fly one day and not the other for one reason or another. I suppose if you can make either day the weather is the deciding factor although I think Sunday tends to be a bit more bussy. I have to work most Saturdays so I'll be going on Sunday.

Providing the weather's OK I'll be there on the Saturday. I have other plans for the Sunday.

This means I'll probably miss that 109, if it is a 109. I suspect it will be a Merlin-engined Buchon. Better than nothing but not quite the same & I've seen them before.

I'm already looking forward to your photos Hagar pal Smiley
I'll be a tad dissapointed if it is a Buchon, the Real Aeroplane Company have one so that would make sence I suppose, but I'll let it pass if that Seafire turns up. After all, I have seen Black Six flying at Duxford Wink

Bf109 has dropped off the list Sad

Planning to go on sat, should get there about 11.30, time to have a quick look-see before the flying starts.

Any tips about leaving?
