Chuck - your point is well taken, and I like the tone of this post.

I think that the matter has been made clear.

Ok, back to the topic at hand.

I was testing out the dynamics that I have made [based off a cessna template].

I made sure that my unit convertions are correct and I made sure that my test model was scaled properly. Well, everything looks alright except for one thing. The dynamics.

It keeps flipping around like a Mexican jumping bean even with the wheel contacts, damage threshold, radius, etc. are set and measured. I checked the engines, turns out it has nothing to do with the engines. I also checked the engine location, fuel location, cg location.

Before it flips around, the rear of the test model sinks into the ground first and then takes off into the air. How do I keep this thing on the ground without sinking in?

I decided to stick with the old four-wheel concept rather than the five-wheel concept that Chuck used. In this situation, I doubt that the fifth wheel would ever help in this.

Everything looks fine in the aircraft.cfg file, but it acts bizzare after loading up into FS.

This problem has always plagued me for years since I started the Mercedes. I couldn't figure it out and it was giving me a headache. That's why the Mercedes is wierd and that's why I seeked help for the Ferrari. But now, I want to tackle this problem right here and right now and without someone having to modify it for me because I am getting dang tired of taking two hockeypuck-sized tablets of aspirin.

Project Chevy will be the first project where I finally plant my foot on the ground and start putting an end to this misery. I don't know how people like chuck ever manage to fix  problematic dynamics in a short time - expecially my problematic dynamics. It mindboggles me. I can read the and aircraft.cfg file just fine. It's the understanding part that kicks me in the butt.

Any tips I need to be aware of?

PS: To me, the aircraft.cfg file is like math to me. I know 7 x 7 = 49, but I like to know why 49 was chosen as a solution to the problem. You get me?

...

I already started work on the my own dynamics. Hard as heck to make.

The work is going by a little quicker than expected.

This project is easier than the Ferrari. It might be finished within half a year at this pace.

...

...

I decided to cap off the bottom for two reason. One, an open bottom would make the car ugly if you see the bottom in FS. And two, I figured a lot of you might do some stunts with this car.

...

...

The seats will soon be added. For the time being, I am concentrating on modeling the tiny parts of the interior: gear stick, parking brake, base of the steering wheel, armrests, etc. Once the seats are done, I'll work on the wheels and then the textures.

I have now added the steering wheel, seats and rims. In a while, I'll get started on the textures. Current poly count is a little over 11,000. However, that doesn't include the engine. As soon as I'm done with the textures, I'll get started on the engine.

I figure that the texture for the carpet will be a pain to make or at least look for. Embarrassed

I think the shifter looks a bit too small there, Kat.   Wink
