I don't have the time or patience for online flying but the offline virt. airline sounds like something I'm ready for. I would like to do airline or cargo not so long hops around the states or maybe down to central/south america or up to canada ever so often.

There are so many that i don't know where to start but i know I want to be part of a larger one thats been around and that you guys here enjoy. If I had my choice I would perfer a 'real' livery.

I saw AFA and the website is very professional which leads me to think its a good place to start. I may even try VATSIM to see how it goes.

With all these airlines using VATSIM how do I go about loading all these liveries into my pc so they all show up correctly? I assume dozens if not hundreds of VT's use VATSIM and unless I have every single livery loaded they will not show up correctly, right?

Hi TwoLow,

No worries about adding any liveries for Vatsim.  The module for connecting to Vatsim, Squawkbox 3, comes with a full set of low poly count aircraft files.  They automatically install during the SB3 installation.  If you do decide to try Vatsim, go to the pilot resource center first and do yourself some reading.

Delta Virtual is excellent.  Their preflight center is great, as is the pilot logbook, which will give you a visual representation of where you've been.  The entire interface is very professional-looking.  They fly a wide variety of boeing aircraft.

They are also part of the Flying Tigers Group, an absolutely massive alliance of assorted virtual airlines.  To boot, you can fly the flights and file PIREPs of any of Delta's Skyteam partners.

Thats for the feed back.

I joined up with American Flight Airways (http://www.flyafa.com) and it's been pretty fun. The system of picking flights and inputting flight time is easy but I may look for more down the road if I 'outgrow' AFA. I do like the fact they allow on or offline flights depending on my mood.

I made Captain over the weekend woohoo!

I've been a member of Simviation for some time now...it was kind my first on-line connection for FS2K4.  And then after a lot of research, I found this VA:

www.flightbase2000.com

So here's what they have:
- 4 seperate divisions, spanning the globe
- dozens of aircraft and routes, from short hops to long hauls
- a complete pilot experience including flight pay, promotions, and careers
- employment above that of pilot, including hub management, flight development, and aircraft painters
- a forum community unrivaled in the VA universe
- a dedicated LiveATC system in addition to VATSIM, where rookie pilots can get their feet wet
- you get virtual $$ for flying, so you might as well invest it, including Livewire stocks and even purchaseable shares of individual aircraft.

It's been a lot of fun for me.  You can check out the free preview by visiting the site above.

Clear skies to all.
