Hi all,
This problem just started to happen. I put a blank DVD to burn a video of my cousin's wedding in the DVD-RW/CD-RW Drive. The disk doesn't read and when I try to access the drive, it says "E: is not Acessible. Incorrect Function". I haven't done anything to the drive. The computer only had a video card upgrade before this. The drive doesn't read a DVD or a CD. Could it be that something has happened that I do not know about?
Thanks,
Ashar Sad Sad

Try this:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q315350

Of course, that would only make sense if you have Easy CD Creator installed.

I had the same problem (in fact I still do), but with a hard disk partition, so that fix won't help me.  Sad

Since you have a DVD-RW drive, make sure, you are using a DVD-R, not a DVD+R. Thats makes a difference.

BTW, make sure the drive is in PIO mode.

It won't read a blank disc anyway. Though I'm sure you know that and you have tried using pre-written media.

Another aside, many disks burnt with the latest burners won't be recognised by older players if the disk is not "closed" for further writing at the time of burning. Many older players simply won't read disks burnt on newer burners at all. I don't know why this occurs and whether or not it is actually hardware faults or incompatibility, though I believe it's the latter.

I just checked my Drive. It's compatible with all the DVD types. DVD+R or -R it doesnt matter. I don't know what's wrong. Oh, and I don't have Roxio Easy CD Creator....I have Record Now!...
Cheers,
Ashar
