Kind of an odd request, but does anyone know what the general anual cost is of running a simple helicopter, like the kinds they give rides in at fairs? Or could you possibly point me to a website that would give me this info? I need to know everything-fuel costs, insurance, maintenance, etc.
For some reason the bossman wants to know

Beefhole,
When I used to hire Jetrangers complete with pilot to carry out power line patrols 7 or so years ago the cost was between £300-£350 UK pounds per hour.
Of course this was a contract price involving a large number of hours and would involve a profit element for the helecopter company.
A friend who does forestry work in the Highlands of Scotland has hired Jetrangers for his work for around £400 per hour.
Only a guide , but hope this helps

obviously they're in the buisness to make some money, so I would factor in a profit margin of about 20%.
That would equate to about $180/hr. Look at the price on the JetRanger.....$800+/hr!! If you're boss scoffs at that price, tell him to look on the bright side......a Lear Jet will run between $1500-$3500/hr!!!
Sorry I couldn't find a breakdown. If you do a search using: R22+operating+expense+annual, you'll come up with a company that sells helicopter specific software for that purpose. Look on the bright side, you can factor the $1000.00 cost of the software into the operating costs and it'll only run you $83/mo.
.....so I loaded up the plane and moved to Middle-EEEE..........OIL..that is......
