Took my first step yesterday to gaining my PPL. Had a 30 min flying lesson in a Cessna 152 at Stapleford Flight Centre and it was brilliant, definately the best thing i have done in a long time. cant wait till my next lesson even though it probably wont be until after christmas and my birthday. Gotta get back on the sim now.

Congrats Eireplane.  Glad you had fun!  First flight is always one of the most memorable.  Don't forget to log it!   Grin

Awesome, I was told to take 2-3 lessons a week, no more, no less so I wouldn't forget any of the information I learned.

I think frequency of lessons depends on the pilot, and how much you think about flying when you're not in the plane. Remember that from your first lessons to your solo you're mainly learning how to primarily fly the airplane. Rules and regs and other such memorization items come later, so in the beginning, above all else, you're learning feel.

I only flew 3-4 times a MONTH from first flight to solo and still managed the solo after only 17 hours of flight time.
