Well by reading Eo's threads I believe that to mean you've got your router and firewalls all set up correctly?
One useful tip I can think of is to turn collisions OFF! This is especially crucial if you are trying to do formation flying, or are even flying in the same vicinity as someone else, as even though you may not even be close enough to hit the other aircraft, or they are not close to you, the sim can still be a bother on this issue.
Other than that I would definately consider your needs and what you WANT to get out of the multiplayer sessions.
If you are looking for online ATC communications with a live person you should check with DrumlineRamos for some recommendations on where to look.
For a more laid back, fly the hoplist type of flying, where 99.7% of the time there is no live ATC, I would recommend looking at something like
www.wspilots.comWhile their main multiplayer hoplist is geared more towards the GA enthsiast, they do have rotating hop lists every month. I personally fly over there all the time and have been spending more and more time there lately..
Just be warned that other sites such as wspilots can/do use slightly different ports for the simulator, for example the main hoplist at
www.wspilots.com is set for 23457, just a simple addition to yhour firewall rules, but a pain in the butt if you don't realize it..
Also, please feel free to join us on any of our weekly round the US (contiguous) tour, we would love to have another person on board!
