Careful Andy - we don't want to get involved in what seems quite a complex situation which may not directly be the fault of DSB, but the developer who "developed" the XML file in question for them.

See Avsim forums for the full (amicable) discussion.

I would not call that discussion there amicable. More like a witch hunt which is one reason I rarely ever use their forums. There are a number of wannabe payware police there. Granted there does seem to be an issue with the XML gauge, however there is also a reply at sim-outhouse by the company DSB, and if they havent replied on the Avsim forums I cannot say that I blame them at all. While I like Avsim for their numbers of downloads, and the uploads, and information, I very much dislike their forums as a large population there has the intelligence and maturity of a Yahoo! chat room.

And like everything else in life these things do happen and in this case it should have been taken care of behind the scenes as much as possible. David Brice is a good developer, and I would not hesitate in buying something from DSB/Sigma, especially after all this is ironed out (if they had something I was interested in buying), and I would not boycott all their items because of this. Dont buy the harrier until this is solved if you must but man dont act like the witch hunt over at Avsim.

And yes I typed all this as an artist who does many forms of visual arts, who has had work copied, who has seen work copied, who knows the full scale of ins and outs of this kind of thing. I also dont steal payware as a free download from P2P, I dont share files with others, I buy my music by the song online or as a CD and only copy music I have legitimately purchased.

Fair enough - I only read the posts by Karen (of DSB), David Brice and Rob B... I've never spent more than 5 minutes there myself... Smiley
