With the current fiasco over the dead pixels present on many PSPs, I decided to start up a poll - vote depending on whether you have a JAP or USA version.
I have the JAP beauty and have no dead pixels.

I just bought the latest 8ms refresh LCD technology in a 17" monitor and it was blurry in a dogfight online, they suck.
I just got a new CRT 19" monitor, Bloody big and heavy, but at least it can display fast graphics.
Dead Pixels would be the living end for LCD and me I'm afraid, but my apps demand the image quality that only a CRT monitor is capable of.

PSP = PlayStation Portable... or something like that.
It's Sony's hand held PS2.

He's not refering to computer moniters, he's refering to the screen of a PSP or Sony's gameboy.

Yeah, but I thought PSP was LCD on speed......
I can't believe I commented (mistakingly) on a PSP, now that I realise what it is. Is the image on those things worth bothering about? I guess 1 dead pixel would wipe out a good portion of the screen ....

Regarding Congo, I have an LCD thats about 3 years old. Planar (big maker of medical displays) and yes its a little blurryer than CRTs and cant hit the high reses very well but its really not that bad. I was in BestBuy yesterday and saw LCD screens and have never seen a crisper more fluid image anywhere besides those plasma tv screens.

you can download a program which will clear dead pixels on the PSP's screen. And if you dont have one now. chances are you will eventually.

Umm, dead pixels stay dead. I think what you are refering to are lazy pixels, pixels that remin in one color all the time. Simply play something wih fast motion and vibrant colors for little bit and the lazy pixels will be fixed. This applies to all LCD's.
dead pixels are dead, you have to get a new screen to 'fix' them.

Yes, The LCD screens look fantastic, and they are light and bright etc., etc.
But the bare face facts are that you can't define sharp details in motion, so when you shoot your CO's ass off, you have no other excuse except to say, "Oh I'm sorry commander, but my new latest, greatest LCD screen is so blurry I didn't realise it was you...."
That's why I can't possibly use one until the technology improves further, or until I become General.......
