Don't believe me, Take a look at this article - Shocked

That's right, Rail commuters face congestion charging. The sheer lunacy of this is difficult to comprehend.  Roll Eyes

I hope, what I read in the paper is not to believed, like most of it usually is.  Grin

posted something simmilar a while back. Its unbelievable how quick these sharks will jump on a money making opportunity.  they are only introducing it this early so that if that toll on the roads did happen, people would have forgotten by then, so they can then drop the prices a little and make it look like they are being transport friendly. improve the services before charging more than too much for a train trip. Birmingham new street, London Euston at 6am is a £90 return already!

I think my truck would get to London from Birmingham on £90 of fuel, thus, a car probably would do it on £20 or so, crazy!

And they wonder why people don't use the trains?

when you also include taxi fare to get to and from either station i think i spent close to £110 on public transport that day. thankfully i had only gotten back from the US 2 days earlier and was going on about 4 hours of sleep from the previous few days, so i was too tired to realise it. Smiley

The laugh about this is that the railway companies can't even afford to move their stock about on the tracks ........ why do you think you see so many carriages being carried on the backs of Low Loaders ?........... Because its cheaper than hiring and paying for the track use to move them by rail.
