Rwy 12 (Read 706 times)

Hi guys,

I almost finished creating my own little airport. Only thing left to do is to put some buildings and stuff on it. I used Rwy 12 Object Placer in the past and it always worked fine for me. Yet at this moment it fails to make a BGL file. That is BGLComp fails in doing so. Rwy 12 will make the XML file but then it stops. I have Windows XP Pro SP2. I downloaded the latest BGLComp and XML updates but no luck. Any ideas what might go wrong here and what to do about it?

Thanks in advance,

Crash Wink

Problem has been solved. Seems that Windows XP SP2 was blocking something. I deleted the Service Pack and everything is working fine again.

You can get RWY12 by Clicking http://www.rwy12.com or by going to http://www.yahoo.com then searching rwy12 object placer.

Glad you got your mojo workin, Crash . . . I have the XP Service pack2 (and anything else MS sends down the pipe) and my Rwy12 works just fine and seems to be lasting a long time. Thnx for the headsup on solving your problem.

Same here with me. It creates the xml. file and it is suppose to show scenery. But I followed the F.A.Q. instructions on how to add objects and it just never shows the object at all.

I originally downloaded RWY12 v1.0 and it did the same thing, so I upgraded it to v1.1 and it now works fine. Another upgrade came out on Avsim last week.

"Another upgrade came out on Avsim last week." Yes. IMO, anyone who's been holding off getting  Rwy12should move on this one.

Those of us who've used (FREE) Rwy12 from the getgo had to add all additional libraries the old-fashioned way (the hard way), now, all up-to-date libraries are included and ready to go.

It's a large program (over 170MB) but it's lots of fun and that's what this hobby is all about. The d/l will be 4 zip files, each about 40-45 mb

Thanks again to Seev, et al, over at Rwy12 for this great FREE addon.

P.S. I'm not affiliated with Rwy12 in any way but do know a good thing when I see it.

OK I got an answer from a member by the name of "Steve" at Runway12.com

The readme file was not complete. the problem that we are encountering is that we are not moviing the BGL file manually to the FS9/Scenery/Generic/Scenery folder

Once you have followed the instructions up to the point where you generate your scenery. You have to go into Rwy12 folder and like for the XML and BGL file.

Cut the BGL file from this folder and paste it in the above Fs9 folder. When you restart FS9 you should see the "Creating new database for new scenery indices" loader.

Go to the place your scenery was placed and it is there!

it worked for me.

Runway 12 is awesome, It has a library of over 1000 objects in Version 1.2 (which includes all the FS9 objects and vehicles, that have not been including with the infamous Lago FSenhancer)

Now I use FSEnhancer to place cones on the floor to map out where I want to place my RWY12 scenery around an Airplane. it works great!

Not neccessary at all to delete SP2. All you had to do was locate your BGL save file to the "Static Object Library/Scenery folder" Which was located in your FS9 Addon scenery folder.  Undecided
