Wow! very nice. Ive been taking pictures of clouds too, but I havn't gotten any quite that impressive.

Yes, that is a Cumulonimbus cloud--they do tend to generate thunderstorms. Nice pic! Wish we had more of those around here!

If you approach such a Cb with a glider, you go straight up and get sucked into the cloud. In the inside, there are winds over 200km/h and gaints hail balls. You never get out of it alive...believe me!

Beautiful!! Classic "anvil" shape, meaning it's still developing vertically, and the high-altitude winds are shearing the top off. Sometimes those beasts can fling rain and hail dozens of miles downwind... Thunderheads are beautiful to see... from the ground. Wink
