Why do people do this. I went to check out Sim-Outhouse and see what going down there only to find out they have bee attacked again by some kind of worm. At least thats what it said in my screen.

That  is just wrong. They are very nice people only interested in a noble hobby.

I hope the people that are doing this have a conscious and realize they are just been harmful to other people.

That is just wrong and wish you will stop doing this. Eventually you will bee cought .

I do not see what kind of satifaction you realize with this kind of behavior.

James... the simouthouse recently switched servers, to get away from those attacks, over the weekend they moved all the files from the old server, to the new, give them a few days to perfect everything.  Wink

Brandon

EDIT - looks like it's "mostly" back to normal... the forums are down though, and you can't upload anything.

2ND EDIT - I Can't download anything... you need to be a registered member, and the forums are down so I can't log in.  Cry

I know they where changing the server but when I went there this morning a message showed up saying they have been attacked by a worm.

I hate when people do this kind of things to benign people and institutions.

There is no useful purpose or enjoyment  possible in my view to harm anyone or anything for the sake of of just having fun.

I hope you are right and they are just changing server.

They were constantly fighting off DOS attacks.

New server is suppose to correct this problem.

From what I understand, no one will be able to upload anything UNLESS they are a registered user.

Thought that was how it was before? Dunno

Hope it all gets worked out though, it's another nice site I visit frequently.

I used to visit SimOuthouse every day. The people who do the add-ons to CFS2 there are very talented and produce beautiful work that adds to the CFS2 experience.
However, SimOuthouse membership is strictly regulated and the work of these people is limited to a select few. If they are having so much trouble with "worms" and DOS problems, perhaps they might look at what many corporations and businesses do to prevent these problems.
I still am a CFS2 enthusiast, but my CFS2 experience is limited to what is currently on my hard drive. I check in here at Simviation from time to time, that's about it.

I am a member of simouthouse since years and have never heard of anything like that.
Registering is required only to participate in the forums, and it is not restricted, it is just to know who you are talking to.
A special registration is also required to upload, for obvious reasons.
I have uploaded an add-on there and sincerely wish anybody can access it without restrictions. The Simouthouse community is certainly a wide open one.

Guy-I recognize you from my time at the Outhouse. My problem was related to some Donationware planes that I purchased but did not recieve. When I told the Outhouse management I felt that was not the best way to treat members donating money, I was banned.
Like I said, I have the utmost respect for the people there who produce great work for CFS2 enthusiasts, I don't have much good to say about Ickie, so I'll leave it at that.
