You're not going to find much. Free sites still take up server space, and go through just as much (if not more) bandwidth than a paid site. To cover those costs, the free hosts use advertising.
There are some with smaller ads, but for the life of me I don't know what they are....I don't use 'em. lol Google "Free webhosting" and see what you come up with.

From the freewebs TOS:
Quote:
All non-premium users are required to have the FreeWebs FreeBar Code on their website. This adds a very small strip at the bottom of the website saying, "This website is being hosted for Free by FreeWebs.com." Users can upgrade their user status to premium status for less than a dollar a month. Other restrictions apply to all non-premium accounts including a maximum limit of 50 files per account, and unavailability of several site addons and extras. In addition, sites older than 45 days that have not signed up for any premium services or registered a domain name will automatically have banner advertisements inserted at the top of the site. Users may get rid of the banner ads and the FreeBar at any time by upgrading their account to premium status at any time by signing up for any of our paid services starting at less than $1 per month.
Free site = advertisement.
Paid site = no advertisement.

Yes i am with a very good host at the moment, they're called x10hosting and can do an advanced package for free with a very small ad. You can get 3 MySQL databases, cPanel 10, All the usual phpBB forum setup scripts and lots of nice stuff like that, 1GB web space, 20GB bandwidth, 5 sub domains.
There servers seem to be reliable I have never had my website down. There having a few problems with the kernel system on there XEON server but that should be fixed very soon.
Sign up with there forums, read this and then apply.
