What are thoes "wing connections" on airbuses? (Read 1018 times)

Don’t you notice the that airbus puts something in-between their wings and fuselage. I have a feeling its a fuel tank...but I'm not sure.

Really? I thought Airbus was designed by Europeans not by North Americans.

Its for Airbus to transport all their subsidies in*! Grin


I'm sure its just different design philosophies...


*Boeing put their subsidies in the winglets and control columns... Grin

It's a result of bad design and having the parts made in seperate places...Airbus has to design adapter to keep the mis-matched pieces together.

Actually, it's just a fillet. Boeing has them too...they're are just less visible.

Yeah, you'll notice all airliners.net photos have another link just above the pic, saying please use this link, rather than copying and pasting the 10 mile long one from the address bar... Smiley

Well, the little bulges probably have a lot to do with the gear, but the also help make the wing-body connection aerodynamically efficient because it reduces drag that would be caused by air flowing in that sharp angle where the wing hits the body.
