I cannot get MS FltSim 2002 Pro to start now.  I haven't run the program in a long time and have upgraded my video card since, installed SP2, etc.  I'm running Windows XP Home with SP2 installed and DirectX 9.0C also.  I've updated my video card driver to the latest (using NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600).  Have unstalled and reinstalled FltSim 2002 Pro, but still will not start. I tried to run it in Safe Mode also, but same thing:   I get the splash screen for about 30 seconds or so, and then the program shuts down.  I do not get any errors so I'm not sure what's happening.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Skipper

Had to look it up in another post but hope this is your answer.

Quote:
Open the "Modules" folder and copy "traffic.dll". Then open the "FS2002" folder (the FS root folder) and paste it in there. Should do the trick.

Thanks for the reply Dave, but that didn't do the trick.

I think you will need to re-create fs2002.cfg to account for the change in video cards.  Rename it fs2002.bak or something, then start the sim.  The sim will re-create a "blank slate" fs2002.cfg and you will need to go through it and reset everything.

(Edit - I meant you will need to go into the settings menu to reset everything.)

I just tried that, but same thing.  FltSim 2002 Pro will not start up.  I submitted a tech support request to Microsoft.  Will see what they say.
Thanks!

I'm stumped.  I hope MS will help you but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I would just back up everything and reinstall.  Start restoring  aircraft, gauges, sounds, etc.  from your backup and wait until something fails.  Since everything worked before your hardware upgrade I'll wager that you have an incredibly minor problem buried somewhere in a configuration file that will take you years to find.

I do not recommend reinstalls lightly but it's up to you how much trouble you are willing to go through to get FS up and running again.
