Thanks for the tour CraigL...very nice

Looking at the farm house...is that a typical farm house over there?
The ceilings look only to be about 7ft high if that.
I also noticed the shutters are on one side only and probably single pane glass windows.
Would that building have been built prior to the 1900s?

My goodness! Its funny how the houses over in europe look compared to the houses over here in Texas(USA). I have a Pic of My house I will post soon. Give u guys a lil tour of TX!

there are still a few. Its difficult to tell where because i live miles away from any of the places these houses are likely to be in the countryside. we certainly dont have them in the city though:)

Well Ive seen certain picture, mainly about a few years old, of houses with diff smoke stacks and layouts. Its just the way of the Europian way of living. To get by with the weather and climate and all. Houses here in Texas are made classy but I guess a bit more expensive. I dont know how much a 3 Bedroom house over there cost but I know that its alot more expensive to buy houses further west you go because of the so called country side of the US and the soil. A house like mine in Hawaii would run you about close to a whoping $300,000. But u see here in Texas the house I live in costs $100,000. I took Archetech classes before and had to find out how much it would cost to build a house in Eastern, Central, and Western USA. to bad we could have done a house over in the UK. That would of been fun.

lol. house prices in the US apart from certain areas are much less than here. I live in a small 3 bedroom 1 bathroom house that while rented costs roughly £120,000. or just over $200,000. for that we get very little,

Don't get the wrong idea Brett. Craig's photos were taken at Blists Hill Victorian Town which is a living museum showing how life was in Victorian times. The buildings were either moved there to save them being demolished or replicas of typical examples of that period built in the traditional way. That "farmhouse" looks more like a worker's cottage to me & the farmer would probably have lived in a much bigger house. There are some cottages like this still occupied in various parts of the country but these are not typical of what you would see in the UK. In fact I'm not sure there is a typical British house as they vary so much depending on the location.

Living where I do you won't get much change from $350,000US for a 3 bed house. Where I used to live you'd probably be looking at the equivalent of around $425,000 to $500,000...
