if the card can run more than 40fps at dusk in fs then it a good card ok.

I didnt say the x850 was a bad, infact, its a great card but if you can buy the x850, you can waist a few dollars more for the Geforce and really. The video card is for fs.
I really dont care about the other games. If it runs well in FS, Im happey Cheesy Wink

cheers

The x850 xt Pe is the best single card solution. it can beat an 6800 ultra in all games at the highest resolutions with max AA and FSAA. The only game where nvidia has an edge is doom 3 in which the 6800 ultra does around 10 fps better.

If your only concerned with fs2004, then get this card. It will beat a single AND a dual 6800 ultra config.

I have this card in all but 2 of my computers. This card is the best single card solution out there. There is no better card.

Depends on the rest of his system. Graphics is not the end all solution like its hyped to be. I had 6800U, 2.2 Ghz AMD 64, 512 PC-2100 ram I was getting crap FPS crap lag. New ram now im sailing. That X850PE is much faster in than the cpu.

I've quite happily set it at 25fps for starters, might go up to 30-35 next time I have a go

So, why is your overkill pc (in your sig) powered by a 6800Ultra then? Grin j/k Wink

From what I've read, a 6800Ultra is indeed better for FS9 than any other card - currently - but no doubt it'll change.

Ultimately, who cares? FS9 runs great on a £250 6800GT that will happily itself overclock to ultra speeds! - making such  high end expensive card's like 6800Ultras & X850's  seem pointless to me really.
I'm not rich, and I see no point in paying  for performance you don't really see much benefit from. especially when mid range cards (6600GT'e etc) costing less than half a 6800Ultra's price are more than upto today & tomorrows games.

my £0.02

I went with unlimited, and started to notice a bit of a longer load time on things, so I bumped it back to good old 37. However I get 87FPS in HL2 and CS-S. And BF Vietnam I get around 75ish. It may not be the best card on the market anymore, but it sure as hell acts it.

Oh and I cant wate for BF2 its gonna be a long break from flight sim ill tell you that right now Grin
