Im getting an ATI RADEON X850 XT Platinum Edition PCX 256MB graphics card with my new Alienware PC.

I just wanted to know how well it performs in terms of frame rates and graphics quality with FS2004.

Anybody got any knowledge of this card or read any reviews of it in FS2004?

Thanks for your help!
Ed

Ive got the X800 PRO (was the best card until the X850s came out) However alienware......please come to my house so that I can smack you (you could have gone somewhere like www.ibuypower.com and gotten three times the PC for the same price as you got your alienware). But in FS youll be able to run anything you want with no jaggies, lag, loss of textures, etc. Its also nice on multiplayer as you dont get those annying loss of frames. Goodbye simple meshes that go easy on my 64bit card and hello to massive meshes that are photoreal....and I still get 64fps. Ohhh life is good Grin

From what I've heard the X850 is over priced for not much performance gain over the X800.

Ive been doing plenty of research on this as I'm upgrading my card as soon as the wife stops buying washing machines hoovers.... sofas... etc etc etc  Sad Sad Sad

Ya i have a friend who has this card, and in games you dont notice the difference, but if your doing video editing, or rendering then it will really strut its stuff.

Ah well, hopefully it'll be an improvement over my 9600XT! Grin

Right about the first bit, wrong about the second bit.
  Wink

I play games such as Battlefield Vietnam, ATI clearly betters Nvidia in that game....

http://www20.graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20041004/vga_charts-11.html

Same thing goes for Far Cry....

http://www20.graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20041004/vga_charts-08.html

But, we forget, your talking very few frames differance, at that level of the market.

You really WON'T see any differance between a 6800 Ultra @ 100fps and an X800 @ 130fps.

The argument is pointless really, and considering the performance I get from my low end 6800LE, I simply laugh at the top end card buyers, to my eyes, your wasting your money.
