Roger, Will and myself did one way back in FS2k2, it was loads of fun. Will had to be the Lanc pilot as;
a) he was the only person who wanted to be
b) he can't do formation flying all that well so we formed up on him Grin

I don't think the Luftwaffe has an official WWII memorial flight. For one thing there are sadly very few airworthy examples of German aircraft. Quite natuarally the Germans tend to think differently about these things & tend to look forward rather than celebrate the past.

PS. I think that young Germans like Bjorn find all the celebrations this year a little hard to take. I can understand that although I saw several German & Japanese veterans enjoying the show at Duxford on Sunday.

At which time he was First Lord of the Admiralty (again).

Interestingly, as First Lord of the Admiralty (the first time around), he was instrumental in promoting the aerial defense of the UK through the RNAS.

Ahahahahaha! Nice one!
In a country that has to lick other countries' butts because of the past, you can't expect something like that.

Pity, there were some beautiful German planes in WWII, with the exception of the Flying Pencil which was just UGLY!!!
Ah well those new 190's will soon bring German aviation back to life Wink

Well, it can only get better. I see Han Dittes Bf109G is airworthy again now, and at least one of the Flug Werk 190s will stay in Germany. Add to that the Me262 which is now in the final stages of its construction in Seattle, which will be on its way over...

This may be of interest...

Me 262 Project

Also there is a genuine BoB veteran Bf109e at the former RAF Watisham in Suffolk, being restored for Microsoft boss Paul Allen's flying heritage collection in the US. Unfortunately I think this will be exported to the US before it flies, just like the 109e restored by the same team for the Santa Monica Museum (since sold to Ed Russell in Canada)...

I don't remember getting any kills either. But then a solitary .303 is not really suitable for downing fighters of that calibre. Grin

1940 Churchill announces: "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat."

On this day in 1940, as Winston Churchill takes the helm as Great Britain's new prime minister, he assures Parliament that his new policy will consist of nothing less than "to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime."
