Flew over a place near RAF Lyneham the other day, and we counted 23 locks on one little stretch of a mile or so...
Here, although you may want to go left and right to see the full extent of the locks. The canal is the Kennet and Avon...

I know that. Even more so when the boat going through is one of those 60 foot buggers that have to go in at an angle to fit.
I've never seen that many crowding round a lock before though.

It was Saturday afternoon on a nice day in a beautiful tourist area. That explains the crowd. Most canal locks I've seen are way out in the middle of nowhere.
