The replica Avro Triplane & Bristol Boxkite. Both built for the film "Magnificent Men". Now vintage machines in their own right, although the originals date back to 1910.



Now for something a little more modern. The Jet Provost.



The T-33 first flew in 1948. Aviation had come a long way in less than 40 years.

Lovely Doug... I always end up forgetting that the Boxkite and Avro Triplane are replicas. Just shows the calibre of the rest of the collection's aircraft, particularly the WW1 fighters (bar two, all original*), and the Blackburn Monoplane, Bleriot and Deperdussin, which all date from 1909 to 1912.

*The Sopwith Triplane, as shown in Doug's first post, was manufactured in the 1980's and first flew in 1992. However, before his death, Sir Tommy Sopwith visited the Northern Aeroplane Workshops to see their work. He was so impressed with the authenticity that he granted the project the status of being a "late production example", and as being an extention to the original production numbers. Hence, technically (and officially) the Sopwith Triplane (not to be confused with the Avro above...) is not a replica.

[edit] The (replica) Bristol M1c fighter is also an NAW manufactured machine...

Nice to see the Silver Star flying in old RCAF colours........they have a few of them in mothballs at Mountainview, just south of Bellville Ont.
