Hello,
After two weeks, I finally got my new zoom lens for my Rebel. It bought a Canon EF100-400 L IS. My first lens from the L series. I know this isn't the best L lens, but it's a fine one to start with. If you are an aircraft spotter, this lens is a must have. A perfect range, fast focussing and IS...which makes a hell of a difference.
Some people claim this lens is pretty soft at 400mm. To prove the opposite, I'll give you three quick shots I took today. All at 400mm. I hope you like them as much as I do.
Shutter speed 1/125 @400mm 8)

Now you need a telescopic sight for your rifle to prevent the little buggers emptying the bowels all over your car
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Nice quality photogaphs but I have something to say to you:
You think 400mm is a bazooka lens?!!? You ain't seen nothin' yet!
This is a "bazooka lens":

http://www.tanchung.com/images/canon/lenses/ef1200mmf56xu.jpg
It costs more than some cars and I know I guy that has one! It is 1,200mm but with the crop factor of 1.6 on his 20D it is effectively a 1,920mm lens! Crazy reach and quality! 400mm with a 1.6 is good enough for most of us though.

Wha-? no, I mean a tufted titmouse, of course!! Why, the very idea...!!!
Besides, I've been looking at something completely different lately in that other department... seems some rascal hacked the picture-cellphone of a certain model who, shall we say, sits on a treasure, and is fond of taking pictures of herself w/her phone...
Tsk, tsk. Terrible. Poor girl.
Now if you'll excuse me...

Thanks for the comments dudes!
The second one is a tit indeed. We have all kinds of those over here.
I know that 1200mm lens. It's Canon's biggest but also most expensive lens. It weighs 15kg. Here you pay €104000 for it. They only produce them by order.

Of course i could never afford it either:) I am guessing yours cost a few pennies as it was.
