Well, it seems that in the days leading up to its first flight, everybody is catching A380 fever, so I am just going to throw some oil into the fire!
Now, from the front and from the side, the A380 looks like a complete different aircraft. In my opinion, from the front it is a pretty ugly aircraft - it is missing something above the cocpit, but from the side it is a beauty. In my opinion, the A380 from the side is much more pleasant to look at than any 747 I have ever seen. Well, let me hear your input!

I dont really like all of them, but if i had to choose it would be the 747 from the side. But you should have added concorde!

IMO the A380 is one of the ugliest things Ive ever seen. But it is a masterpiece of engineering afterall, it dosnt matter how it looks as long as it gets the job done.

Before they painted it, the A380 looked like it had a face!

I like the smooth, contoured lines of the 747, especially from the side.

I prefer quartering shots... a 747 picture that has the wingtip lined up with the nose looks really great.
The day is always better when you're flying upside down.&&&&

I remember thinking when the 747 first appeared how ungainly it looked compared with other jet airliners like the Comet, 707 & DC-8. Now I'm used to it I think it's very graceful for such a large aircraft & it's probably my favourite of all the jet airliners in service. (I wouldn't call it beautiful compared with Concorde which took my breath away no matter how many times I saw it.)
I've found the same with new model cars & it takes a while to get used to anything. The A380 might look quite different in the air so we shall have to wait & see. Your opinion might change in a few months time, providing you forget politics & judge the aircraft on its own merits.
