There's still a lot to do when it comes to the USSR on CFS2, there are only 3 Campaings around to my knowledge
Leningrad
Stalingrad
Kursk
Battles about the War in the USSR I could think a truck load of.
I might as well suggest you to try to build up "Operation Typhoon": Luftwaffe Attacks Moscow.
But if you're into jets how about this little suggestion?
War in Chechnya
War in Yugoslavia
Those 2 seem to have been forgotten.

Bombardier I prefer you make the addon on the Eastern Front or World war one.
Making a campaign about the Night Bombing over Western Europe by the RAF is almost not possible.
Unfortunualy this Simulator is mostly dedicated to Fighters. Sure you can fly Bombers but you cannot defended it against any in comming enemy fighter.
There for you would only bee able represent the the German night fighters force.
When I fly in a campaign I like to fly for both sides.
What happen to the INJ Bombers campaign you where going making for us.
If its made for small Bombers like torpedos or Dive Bomber you could get away this it.
I just like to clarify some thing here. There is only one identity who can make CFS4. Thats Microsoft , let hope one day they would decide to jump on the fray. Lets hope they will include the Pacific Theter in there next install.
There are just to many Simulator dedicated to the European Theater as I write this post and there is not enough representation of the Pacific Theater. Maybe they will include the whole war. Wouldn"t that be cool. Lets hope and pray.
All we can do is make CFS2 the best it can bee.
Cheer up and do best job you can do.
Thank for giving us the option. Your labor will be highly apprecaited.

Spanish Civil War????
I've always liked that particular period since it takes you from the end of the biplane era to the start of the monoplane fighters....
Where else can you have Bristol fighters starting the campaign, have DC-2s rigged as bombers and finish off with Me-109s?

Personally, I'd love to see some WWI action. Can't find a decent WWI sim anywhere, nor a comprehensive addon for CFS 1/2/3, EAW, or il-2. Red Baron 3D seems to be gone from everywhere. I occasionally still fire up Dynamix Red Baron, circa 1991.

Sorry James, I have no plans in the Eastern Front or WW1...

Do you mean about the bombing accuracy at night? I've been pacing and thinking about how to fix that...

Sorry I haven't completed that yet. I've got pretty much all the missions, but I need to find out which order they go in, and do the campaign file.

I didn't really mean 'CFS4', I just meant a pack for replacing the aircraft, some scenery, the GSL scenery (goodie! I get to replace the GSL!) so that people can get CFS2 and name their main cfs2 folder something other than Combat Flight Simulator 2 so that the installer thinks that it isn't installed, then they can do another install and with that install they can just put my pack in and hey presto, new-looking sim, although it isn't really a new sim
.

I don't know that the Pacific theatre had much 'sub-theatres' in other words battles as the European. I mean there's the Aleutians, there's Australia (already done though!!!) and Defense (and bombing) of Japan, maybe the early war Singapore/China part. But the European is more detailed in the difference of it's battles, and when there's one battle going there's another as well, unlike the Pacific war. Plus Europe has battles that differ more from eachother. That IJN bomber camp with come along soon though...

Bombadier thank you for your respond. your input to this Sim is very appreciated.
Bombadier what I meant about the the night campaign over Europe was that in CFS2 Bombers cannot defend them self properly.
One of CFS2 short commings is the inability for the Bomber crew to use gunner turrents to defend them self from enemy fighters.
Perhaps you can make one for the German night fighters, but not for the RAF Bomber Command.
When I fly in a campaign, I like to fly for both sides.
Are you going to use Night search lights?
As for the European having more theater to work with. Thats not true.
Here some of the few Campaings that can be made for the Pacific Theater. This list is not a complete one either. Its just rough draft.
1.China 37-41
2.China 41-45
3.The Monohan incident 1939
4.Pearl Harbor 41
5.Wake Island 41-42
6.Malaysia and Signapore 41-42
7.Philipines 41-42
8.Australia 42-43
9.Burma 1942
10.Burma 43-45
11.Guadacanal
12.Central Solomon 42-45
14.New Guinea 42-44
15.Central Pacific 43-44
16.Philipines 44-45
17.Okinawa 45
18.Manchuria 45
19.Japan 44-45
20.Japan 44-47 Hypothetical
Like always the Pacific Theater is down play when compare to the European Theater.
I"am as ficinated by the European Theater as I"am for the Pacific Theater.
Its that the European Theater get the bulk of the Sim dedicated to it and that has bother me for years. Do you realize that if it were not for CF2 there would not be any serious good dedicated Simulator for the Pacific Theater.
Now that a shame if you ask me. I beleive what makes World war two exciting to me its complexcity and its world involvement by every World power of the period.
Its defeding Britain in the Battle of Britain as well as defeding Wake Island against the Imperial Navy forces following Pear Harbor.
It involved Alliances against other Alliences for the Domination of the World.
The Future of the World at the time was on the Balance.
Now let me show you how many Sims are dedicated for the European Theater exclusively.
European Air War
CFS1
CFS3
B17
IL-2 Sturmavik
Forgotten Battles/Ace
Jane World war two Fighters.
Battle of Britain Rowen
Battle of Britain Wings of Victory
Janes World war two Squadrons
There even more than the ones I have mention.
The only other dedicated Pacific Theater Simulator is Pacific Fighter. But right now is to incomplete to bee consider a great Pacific Simulator.
Perhaps after Patch 4.0 it may bacome a better Simulator that represents that Theater.
To me thats incredible!
This is not a knock on the European Theater. It a call for more Balance.
I"am not interested making this a Europe vs Pacific war since I consider it just one Huge nasty World war. I just would like to see the Sim World more balance in its representation of World war two.
Thank you

Bombadier if you decide to make a campaign on the Night Bombing over Germany. Thats alright with me.
Thats a very interesting facett of the war that has been basically ignored.
I do have some concern with the ability for the Bomber to defend them self from the fighters.
I was just venting my frostration on the big developers like Ubi and microsoft.
Not on the community individual developers. You guys are been great.

Voted WW2 Russia, but a Night over Germany or a WW1 Campaign would also be cool 8)
There's a bunch of Bf-109's and Fw-190's on Akemi's site that would work nicely in the Night over Germany Campaign
http://hago003.hp.infoseek.co.jp/
I don't think a Gulf, Iraq or Vietnam Campaign would work cos of the limits in CFS2
(There's no support for Missiles)
Quote:
Sorry James, I have no plans in the Eastern Front or WW1...
Why add WW1 to the poll then?

Edit: Would be cool to create something similar to MAW for CFS2 8)

Just a observation I notice a while back. But it seems to me with Stiz new Textures you can see a little better on exterior views on the out side while flying night missions.
It makes it a little easier to fly in the night, while the old original textures made it almost impossible to fly night missions. It was simply to dark.
You still need too read your instrunents to bee able to fly night missions.
Has any body else notice this as well.
Stratobat very few Bf109 and Fw190 where used defending Germany during the war on night missions. Most were Me110 and Ju 88s.
Its not that your subjestion is a bad one. But what you mostly need are good night equipt Me110 and Ju 88 heavy fighters with night radars.
You also need search lights plus the 88 AAA guns. The game brings one but for some reason it does show up. Maybe Bombadier will able to fix this.

I think there are a few Ju-88's in the Download Section here on SimV. Someone also made an Me-110 a while back, but I can't remember where I saw it. If anybody knows where it is, please post a link. The Searchlights aren't a problem. A few guys put together a set and posted it on SOH some time back

You have cockpit lights to read your instruments by night. As you should realise already with CFS2.
For radars, there isn't anything I know of that can do that. But the Gryphon Aviation Mossies had a little section of the panel where you could put the tactical display and it looked quite good.
And Searchlights and AAA guns are already avaliable.
So the bombing of Germany would be a great one to go for and an addition i've wanted for a long time.

That is true, but I've never heard of night Bf109s! ??? ??? ??? Not to say that night 109s is untrue. But I do know that Fw190s were used more than the 109s in the night.

No reason why someone else couldn't do some Korean missions or a campaign if they wish. The idea behind Fox Four is that we wanted to use as much of our own work as possible & have it all available for download from one site. Fortunately we have a very talented team who can create most of what we need. This obviously takes longer than using existing aircraft for example. A major problem with missions & campaigns involving 3rd party aircraft & scenery is when this involves a lot of separate downloads from various places. These sites can often disappear (I could give you many examples) which makes it difficult or sometimes impossible to track these down.
Campaigns involving 3rd party aircraft & scenery are probably the most complex addons for any version of CFS. If at all possible please get some reliable beta testers to check it out for you before uploading it anywhere. It's very easy to miss out a few important files as I know all too well. Also be prepared to back it up if anyone runs into trouble.

Hagar,
I am into campaigns at the moment and I would like to help the Fox Four team anytime, like with scenery, aircraft finding etc.
Drop me a line if you want any scenery etc.
I might want to let you all know that yes, the IJN thing is out, but I want to do another campaign. Which one next? I was considering USN bomber, or I could do a Nachtjaeger (German nightfighter) one? ???

Thanks for the kind offer Bombardier but we have all we need right now. I'm just trying to give anyone thinking of creating missions or a campaign in anything but the default theatre the benefit of my experience.

Actually five now, including me. The other 4 do all the clever stuff. I'm just the oily rag.

What's the difference between Iraq war & Gulf war?
Unless you mean Gulf War 2 (the recent one) by Iraq war.
