So, what are your thoughts on the race?  I thought it was great racing weather or not McClaren got the win.

IS ANYONE ELSE SICK OF THE NEW TIRE RULES?  Its taking away from the racing, and making it dangerous for drivers.  Maybe it should be 2 sets per weekend, then you could have practice/qualifying tires, and race tires.  It would only cost a few* more thousand

*-few is a relative statement, not a set amount

It was what it was. Nothing exciting but not boring. As for the tyres, time to goto one supplier bridgestone are useless. Nice to see Honda really stepped up on that loophole for a new engine, what a waste. Roll Eyes

It was nice to see another team at the front ...... I missed Australia.
I just hope that it levels out a bit during the rest of the season. I think the rule changes need to be modified and refined... Not withstanding the new rules, I think this could be the most open season for a long time.

I fear the day that Ferrari releases the F2005 on the track.

Look at the bright side. The poor performance of the 2004 has meant they are rushing the 2005 car, so they will have to decide this week if it is track ready, if not it could be another 2 races or a penalty drop before they can release it again if they dont in Bahrain. If they do release before its ready they could end up like Mclaren last year. Or it could be a true monster of a car, they are already saying its at least a second faster then the 2004 car and thats before Michael and Rubens have even tested it Shocked

Woooo - JP came in 4th 8)

I didn't see the race, but judging by the results table, either Ferrari had another poor race, or that Red Bull car has got more kick that we thought Roll Eyes

I still fear the day Ferrari releases the new car.  If its Good-more of the same.  If it is bad-the end of a generation of F-1 racing.

What i got from the race

1. ferrari was a dissapointment

2. they really need to change that 1 tire rule. it not only makes the race a bit slower, it also is more than a bit dangerous. (did you see barrichello's rear tires at the end?  Roll Eyes)

Well todays testing by Rubens and Michael went well apparently. Rubens has said the car was a step forward in every area and is much quicker. And apparently Bridgestone have designed a whole new tyre for the car. Whats scary is that they are enjoying the fact it could be released in Bahrain, its not like some teams who are working hard and saying little because it might not be ready. I have a feeling if these new tyres are able to compete with the Michelins at the start, those two Ferraris are going to be very difficult to beat.
As for 1 tyre rule. Again i say allow them to be changed and bring back no refueling. More time on the track then rather than in the pits. It can be done and was done for years.

They are definatly confirmed now for Bahrain. Its safe to say this race could pretty much decide the year.

heh,

i really hate this new tyre rule.. it doesn't make the drivers push their cars to the max like last year..
instead now its who can look after their tyres well that wins the race.. how pathetic.
